When I started doing more and more sketchnoting, I began to realize that I was going to like my sketchnotes more if I was able to work on my drawing skills. I had also been taking inspiration from a lot of really amazing artists, including Paul Soupiset, Mattias Adolfsson and Tommy Kane. I took a few classes with Sketchbook Skool, and have since really gotten into sketching and drawing. I enjoy sketching a lot of buildings and architecture, drawing icons and religious art, doodling and doing zentangles, and have been working on sketching people as well. I have a few more drawing classes that I’m going to be taking, and look forward to continue improving.
My typical medium is pen (Staedtler Pigment Liners, or Pitt Artist Pens, or my Lamy Safari fountain pen with Platinum Carbon black ink) and watercolor paper (typically the Moleskine Art Plus / Watercolor notebooks). I also generally add watercolor to most of my drawings.
Below you can see some of the work that I’ve done over the past year. I’m considering opening an Etsy shop at some point, so if there are any pieces that you’d be interested in having a print of, please let me know.
